Prolific try scoring winger came to Illawarra from Emerald in Central QLD in 1983. A serious knee injury kept McIndoe off the field in 1984 but he recovered to represent QLD and Australia during the late 80's. In 1988 he was selected to play for Australia against Rest of the World, thus becoming the Steelers first Australian representative.He signed with Penrith in 1989 and had two great seasons including scoring a try in grand final loss to Canberra in 1990.In 1991 McIndoe went back to play for the Steelers.
