The younger brother of Graeme Wynn joined P'matta from Thirroul in the I'warra competition, playing for NSW in his first season in Sydney. Peter Wynn then suffered a discouraging series of injuries in the early 1980s, missing the club's first grand final success in 1981 with a serious knee injury.
